Brand new here. Just leaving a short(ish) message for everyone that is interested to know who I am.
Male or female? Born female, identify as male. Transgendered, if you must.
Age? Young. Just..... young.
Left or right-winged? Largely left. But I am willing to accept and respect anyone's views, as long as you don't directly insult me, then I get a bit defensive.
Not sure if I will post much of my writing here, a lot of it is just poem drabble. None of it means anything, at least not like it meant something when I wrote it. Once I write and get the visions or emotions I am trying to communicate out, pretty much all drive for that particular subject leaves my mind for a bit.
.....Except for politics and religion. I will never be tired of talking/arguing about politics and religion.

Welcome Artie, we are glad to have you and you will find there is plenty to discuss around here! Feel free to jump in with both feet, all of us need discussion to get our creative juices flowing and you just might find yourself inspired too!

Funny how quickly the urge to write can flee us after the first spontaneous response. Can we bottle up the urges and vent them slowly, build a shelf display for them? The two surest ways to provoke a discussion; mention politics or religion. The fireworks don't start however, until you find an opposition. You'll find a variety of religious and political views here, but we try to retain a social climate so the author has room to articulate clearly. We're never so concerned with orientation as much as how well it was presented. Welcome, and i hope you'll feel comfortable with expressing yourself at Subversify.

Thanks, everyone. I will probably dig up some old teenage-y poetry, turn it from the crap that it is into something slightly better, and post here sometime. I will definitely look around and contribute when I can, this looks like a great place.
And yes, mention politics or religion and you will definitely get a response, haha. I happen to be a Political Science major myself. Yes, still in college, I'm still a baby, haha.

Political science is definitely a lively subject. It seems almost as necessary to have a jaunt through political science under your belt while you are in college as it is to ... what is it the college kids find necessary to do now? I know about love ins, sit ins, music jamming, body painting and of course the crucial moment of inhaling, but i have no idea what the college atmosphere is like today. Some good college stories might be just the ticket to an interesting, informative or humorous piece.

Haha, actually I'm a bit of a shut-in when it comes to social things like that. I was also enlisted for about 18 months before I went to school, and that was where I did most of my partying, albeit most of the partying was of the under aged variation. A lot of my friends go to a hookah bar behind our school, and I do go to raves every once in a while. I'm also into the costuming culture, and most of my social activities revolve around going to conventions. I have been wanting to write a short memoir type of thing based on a few of my life stories, but wasn't sure who would really want to read it. I have a lot more under my belt than someone of my age should.

If you're a writer, it's good to have plenty under your belt at an early age because it gives you more things to write about. Actually, i would like very much to see some articles and stories aimed at the twenty-thirty year old set as i feel we have been neglecting that age group a bit, which isn't agreeable with my sense of fair play. So much of what you mention would definitely hit the human interest category; enlistment, hookah bars, the costuming culture. Write what you know. Don't worry about whether or not someone will want to read it. If it comes from the heart, is sincere and well articulated, you will gain a fan base. It's never quite as much the subject you choose that makes a piece interesting, as how well it is presented.
