Retards are hailed as smartest this and that all the time. Do they deserve it? If their "collective trust" says so...
But really "retard" just means slow...and as such there are many fine and wonderful thinking people who are retarded.
It's a problem when a moron is thought to be the smartest alive.
But I was interested by this article and the machines and collectives. Whenever I see Hawking, since I was a child, I always thought of the Star Trek character who was a rolling box, with a head. He was intelligent and mean spirited. Do you know the episode? Anyway, preserving someone just based on intelligence is wasteful. I'm not making particular judgements about Hawking, I don't know him personally, although he has said he thinks mostly about Women that they are "the greatest mystery" which leads me to believe the his a philanderer or a suck up.
In any case I do believe in the collective. We are all nothing without the input we receive throughout our lives from everyone and everything. The machine part worries me.

Hawking's a bit of an egoist, in my opinion, which does go along with your philanderer or a suck up theory.
As for his genius status, I think he's just a poster boy for annoying atheists. He's the retarded Jesus.
