It is a prompt for flash fiction writing. Which is a writing muscle building exercise especially important when you do not want to write, which to be honest, happens a lot to most writers.
You take a prompt, in this case: "Fog and Fear" and use it in a very short (or long depends on you) story. It's like stretching before you run. Or I guess it could also be like stretching instead of running.
There are no rules. Your story could be 300 words and never contain the words Fog and Fear. but be inspired by it. Or you could have a longer fiction with the words buried and separate. Or anything in between.

Oh and you could post here for your pleasure and feedback. Which actually might not be pleasurable at all but most people are kind. By most people I mean Karla Mitch and Myself because as you know this place is now "exclusive" by which I mean it is veryvery slow. But exclusive sounds better.
Or you could not post. The main thing is to stretch.

Where is Mitch anyway? You in touch with him Grainne? Is he OK? I think I read on his blog that he was getting death threats 'cause of his book. (wtf?) And what about Bill? And Irish Mike? I noticed Azazel is MIA too, and so is Jennifer.
Did you guys have a falling out or something? Why isn't the mag being updated at all? Did everyone just decide to give up? Or was it a money-thing?

No, nobody has had a falling out. We have had to restructure how we run articles. Due to Google policy and our intent to stay relevant and searchable, we need first run articles. Not everyone has the time/desire/understanding to do that.
Everyone is okay and I keep up with all of them. Even Melancholy Mitch is really okay.
