Yes Jen, Stacy dragged us all over here and took us out of our ever so dreadful agonizingly long page loading 360 element. Glad to have you with us.

Hi Jen. Yep, now you know what we have been whispering about in the corners of the hallway. Three Sixty has been bringing about its own ruination through lack of proper maintenance. For my own purposes, i consider Subversify the next step in my evolving efforts to establish an online literary face. Forums are good for making connections, for pounding your writing into publishable work; as blogs often are; but the publishing industry has become as antique an establishment as government officials. A lot of good writers with visionary ideas are being ignored and falling by the wayside, convinced because they have been rejected by the sage old houses that are only looking for popular concepts to be exploited, and renewed through generic imitations of the same theme. It wasn't because they weren't good; it was because they couldn't guarantee a best seller. Just as Independent movies are slowly nudging aside Hollywood glitz and glamor, i believe the challenges created by progressive online writers will shift the attention of Oprah mentality book sponsoring into an appetite for fresh, new ideas.

Hi Jen, I just joined also. I've been popping in and reading a few articles and when I saw the forum, I signed up. You know I don't write much, but being around so many talented writers in here, maybe some of the spark will rub off on me.

Welcome sugarshirl. I like how you've accustomed your avatar and signature. I have yet to figure that out or at least try to figure it out. Glad you could join us.

I love that signature. When i first saw it, i just sat there, watching it repeat itself. I then had to blink and re-read your post as i was so hypnotized by the signature, i'd lost track of the conversation.

Thank you for the welcome Maya, I know I'll learn a lot in here and I hope to be able to contribute something also. Karlsie, I love animated siggys and will use them often, but I don't want to hypnotize you, just make you smile.

Hah hah. You know, i love animations but it always annoys me to have to learn new technology. It requires using a side of my brain that i take great pleasure in remaining lazy. Give me a thousand lashes with caribou whiskers. I have an overdeveloped muscle on one side and an underdeveloped one on the other.
You'll find that some of our members get a little rough and tumble with each other. This is mainly due to their enthusiastic support of free expression. One of the things we try to teach here is using the affirmative voice. The affirmative voice makes statements backed with research, facts or experience. It dismisses much of the use of "i think", "i believe", "in my opinion". Many of our debates; which can become very heated; help us to arrive at our conclusions for writing articles.
The direction of our mag is somewhat loose. We seek out the facts behind media blitz. We look for the alternatives that have not been represented. we also encourage the craft of good fiction writing, but like our stories to step outside the typical plotlines of genre writing. We like to be surprised, intrigued, stimulated. We are very gentle with our struggling fiction writers as good fiction is probably one of the most challenging of the arts. We wish to help them build their skills; extoll them; not discourage them into inactivity.

It must have been about a year ago when I fell off the edge of the earth, and I must apologize for not replying to your post as it was very enlightening. Thank you for letting me know more about Subversify and how things work. Looking forward to some rough and tumble debates and hoping that I will have something to contribute.

You'll find that Subversify has come a long way in just a year, and is filled with energetic writers. Our forum is sometimes quiet, but don't let the silence fool you. It only means our writers are busy pounding out their articles and stories. Any time you'd like to put up a debate or have a general rant, the willingness to participate is usually pretty enthusiastic.
