Unfortunately, my image host wouldn't save the picture in its original size. I will email it to you.
Happy Birthday Darling Grainne!!!
Child of Aquarius
Stream of water lifted gracefully from a jug upon her airy shoulders the stones rejoice the tumbled pebbles chatter Aquarius avenges thirst
From air she springs sunlight and clouds Brooding storms and magic rainbows Her feet burrowed into soil Aquarius breathes knowledge
Dreaming silver fish and greening hilltops A flower’s deafening opening the warm, brown song of children’s play what has transpired Aquarius inspires
Beautiful poem was written by Karla

Happy birthday and all that business. I guess this would be a bad segway for my diatribe against birthday celebrations. So ignore the loony old man shaking his cane.

Ahh, y'all are the best. And stacy I love loony old men, especially ones able to pull together diatribes! Thanks for thinking of me! And thanks Maya for sending that through email. I got it first think this morning. I would tell you how old I am but every year my kids fake me out so I have given up. One year I didn't do the math myself and went around thinking I was a year older for the whole year. Guess that shows me I should do a little addition now and then.

Nothing wrong with a person having their special day of the year. Just as long as we don't fall for the marketing ploys.

Here's to another year wiser. I had to spend the whole day in Anchorage today, looking for an art program for my daughter, whose birthday was the twenty eighth of January. I thought i could find the program in Eagle River, but no. My short sightedness meant that i showed up at her birthday party empty handed, and Regina made a point of letting me know she disapproved. Her new mother-in-law has been spoiling her. I don't really approve of contests to see who can buy her the most expensive gifts; mom or mom in law, but it still gave me just a little satisfaction to know i still can find the things she wants the most. The light that danced in her eyes was worth every minute of the time i spent in shopping. Besides, it meant a trip to Office Max. I was in paradise sampling their new lap-tops, trying out their computer chairs and wondering if i should buy a thirty dollar pen for myself. I didn't buy the pen. Big John would steal it. I think i'm going to be evil. The next set i buy will be fountain pens and i dare to see him try to use them.
Anyway, i hope your birthday was the best. Be careful of grumpy old men who give diatribes. After awhile, you forget how to dance. And Maya, your drawing was beautiful.

Aha! Maya, I asked who drew that and you never answered! Yes it is lovely. So sweet to know that you have this talent. I had an overall good day. As i get older I find the birthdays are more about what other people want to do and tell me than me needing anything. I would be happy with a Hot Dog (which I got) and a movie in snuggled up. (Fell asleep-oops!) I still love grumpy old men, and I never forget to dance.....I just save it for those who deserve it which you all do. P.S. Bannana and Rum go really well in cake....just sayin.....
