Despite the temporary set-back of a downed site, Subversify is now averaging one thousand hits a day. Congratulations to all you erstwhile writers who have diligently contributed to making the magazine the flourishing toddler it is today.
I'm sure many of you have noticed Subversify has been getting a make-over. Our logo has been modernized and our banner has been going through some color changes. I know many of you had grown quite fond of our first little girl, but we thought our magazine face lift should reflect the progress we have been making into becoming a top-notch International magazine. I want all our writers to feel free to add what they think will make an attractive logo and banner for our magazine. If you have any graphic designs of your own to submit, please put them up here at the forum. In fact, we'd appreciate that more than suggestions for any major alterations in the design. Since we are not graphic artists, but content writers, we're just a little grudging about time not spent writing content.
Once again, i'd like to emphasize the importance of having one headline news article a week. For the writer who wants to establish journalistic credentials, sponsorship with Google News is a bonus feature. The articles that Google sponsors consistently receive at least twice as many hits as the next leading article, with a number of academic supportive links circulating your authorship.
Writing an article for Google News isn't much different from writing a college term paper for a course. Write at least two thousand words. Cite at least three documentary sites. Insert quotes instead of links. Use the objective tone versus the subjective pronoun. Back up your statements with facts. Write a concluding paragraph.
We've often broken our rule and used articles for our headlines that did not qualify for Google News. This generally cuts our reader volume nearly in half, but we don't always have a qualifying article, so we go for our next option; the best developed social piece, which should also be at least two thousand words.
In other Subversify news, we are currently planning a separate website with links to the original site for our travel articles. Our travel slant will be the same; the experiences of our travel, the way our travels have enriched us, our observations and our connections to the spiritual side of our journey. So you don't get nervous from an atheistic aspect; that wonder, that joy, or maybe that anguish; that deep in your heart understanding of the natural forces you see around you. We'll be needing a title, so if you have any ideas, cough them up.
Our finances are starting to look good, thanks to a very generous donation from one of our readers. We still wish to expand into radio podcasting; interviews, audio plays, e-book readings, music, etc. The hang up isn't affordability at this point, it's a need for material. If you have a means of making voice recordings for a podcast, polish up that voice and raise your hand here at the forum. Subversify is growing rapidly and we have a lot of plans for its future, but they can only be accomplished through team work. If you see a project you'd like to help work on, let us know. In the meantime, roll on mighty battlers for the truth. The world is listening.
