I'm the product of extreme sexual suppression. I'm like the lung-less guy from the smoking commercials, only sexually speaking.
I don't think of sex as a holy act or as some sort of genuine human emotion. I think like any activity, it can be be exploited and associated with negativity. However, the deviation, the curiosity of strange sexual practices I believe is normal.
Not to be a SPAMMER, but the book I am selling soon (Attempted Rapture) upon its first release in 2007 was the end of my Christian days. The book contained disturbing content (much of it sexual) and it did ruin some of my friendships with other Christians. But I felt it necessary, to rebel against the morals I was taught. For a while I actually felt shame because of what I wrote.
Now though, I tend to see things differently. I think people have a superstitious fear of sex and it's dangerous not just emotionally, but socially. Sexual suppression and perhaps sexual excess can affect people's lives and perhaps even affect world leaders, politicians, etc.

As for the underage issue, it's very hypocritical. One of my old friends was married at like 15 because she had parental consent.
We demonize pedophiles and yet promote sexual imagery of children. It's all crap. Sexuality is a part of life. Maybe we just invent laws and standards so that we have someone to prosecute and abuse.
Overall, I think the only rule about sex is that the act should be of free will (including marriage) and that both partners should be honest about what they want.
I've heard some bizarre thoughts on this before, suggesting that telling a person you have an STD shouldn't be legally required. I happen to think telling a person you have an STD is a matter of politeness and its hard to fathom that the state has to get involved!

I don't know how bad religious morals really are..
In Iran there are many small towns and villages that are predominantly atheist/agnostic. These people are probably the descendents of ancient pagans who never accepted Islam.
Now, you should know that these guys don't go out shouting that they don't believe in god. It's a private matter to them. But if you're having a conversation with them and you mention the g word, they'll think you're an idiot and treat you like you're a moron.
What I've noticed is that the phenomena of older boys molesting younger ones is very rare in muslim towns. The boys in these towns watch porn just like anywhere else, but they just jerk off and rarely decide to perform what they see on whoever they can get a hold of (little boys are the only available target on the streets)
But in atheist villages, there is only a weak and vague sense of morality. There is nothing stopping the young men from molesting children; they don't care if it's right or wrong, all they care about is immediate gratification.
I don't know.. but I'd say the muslim towns in Iran are generally the nicest people you could come across; they don't lie or cheat or steal and not because it's against the law but because they believe it's wrong to do these things. They would never want their daughters married to some man through trickery and entrapment. But the atheists here really don't seem to understand why it's wrong to lie, steal and cheat -- other than they could get arrested for it.
If I had a choice, I would much rather live in a muslim town.
I lost approximately 5,000 dollars worth of walnuts, almonds and grapes to thieves last year. I know for a fact that in muslim villages theft is incredibly rare. Whereas every year a good percentage of my fruits get stolen, and I live in one of the possibly richest small towns in Iran.
Everyone in this town has a hectare of land given to them by the government and because the region holds 10% of Iran's fresh water, everyone gets plenty of water for irrigation. So, there are really no poor people in this town but there are plenty of people who prefer the taste of stolen food. They say "why work when you can just eat off of your neighbor's work?" -- "He's got plenty to go around" is their justification.

And the bit about the taste of stolen food was what a judge told me. He told me that these people can't digest 'Halal' food. ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halal) He said they've been eating 'Haraam' for generations. He stated this as a historical fact. ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haraam) He told me this as a way of getting me to empathize with the village idiots who were constantly stealing all my stuff. On that occassion they had broken into my house and taken everything valuable I had.

seriously though who would you rather live next door to: homer simpson or ned flanders?
And while homer does seem really cute on tv; in real life it sucks when your neighbor constantly "borrows" your stuff without telling you.
these guys have really taught me how to overcome attachment to material goods.. they take everything and they feel like they are justified in doing so, kinda like the US on the international scene.

the religious morality people on the other hand believe that they have to be grateful for what they have otherwise god will take it away, and they would never dream of taking something that doesn't belong to them.. they understand the concept of karma and abide by it.
there's just no sane comparison to be made here.. over here the atheists (people without morals) are just the worst people imaginable and the only way I've been able to live with them is by constantly taking a zen approach

I believe if you suppress sexuality, all kinds of deviations are bound to occur. After some thought, I have to say this might not be very accurate. I see that pretty much all the weird sexual behavior I can think of is very common and widespread in the west, where sexuality is not suppressed as per Freud's recommendation. The west is basically the cradle of all the strangest pornographic themes I know of. It seems pretty much everyone in Europe has some kind of bizarre sexual fetish, and very few people are into "normal sex" these days. But here's the really strange part, and I've mentioned this before. There is practically no Iranian porn on the internet at all! And I've looked.. There are plenty of Arab sites with forum layouts where Arabian people submit their homemade sex videos, and the sites host a shitload of porn at this point. New videos are submitted pretty much daily. But there isn't a single Iranian site mirroring this behavior. This is really deep IMO. Why isn't there any Iranian sexual material on the net?? I think it's because Iranian girls will refuse to be filmed 9 times out of 10. Even prostitutes will not consent to being taped. For Iranian women it seems there is a very deep sense of shame in such an act.. And this has become quite a sad subject for Iranian males, who are just dying for some Persian porn nowadays. ;D So I guess the truth is that while modern Iran may just be officially the most sexually oppressive environment on earth today, we can never really know for sure what goes on in Iranian bedrooms.. but I have a feeling that sexual deviance is much more common in places where sexuality is left unchecked.. and my personal experience says that Iranian girls are very simple beings, and quite shy when it comes to unconventional sex.. Today I overheard a few young girls talking about relationships. One of them stated that all she wants is to find a boy who is "morally healthy" and the others all agreed. I didn't catch any more of their conversation but I thought this was basically what the majority of young Iranian girls are after. They just want a man who will be faithful to them -- and they are willing to forgive pretty much any other flaws if their man is morally sound and not promiscuous. But this is the kind of thing that appears once in a blue moon. There are no faithful men in Tehran.. maybe one in a million or something The girl's tone was really sad though. It affected me. I felt she was really despondent.. It seemed to me like her lovers had probably cheated on her countless times.. Dunno how this is relevant except I feel the majority of young women in Tehran are somehow turned off by the whole issue of sex.. Most of them have gone through a whole chain of guys who seemingly all appeared great and normal at the beginning but became jerks after they started having regular sex.. Heh. This is the plight of the single women of Tehran: men lose interest in them as soon as they give themselves up, and men show no interest in them to begin with if they refuse to put out. Here's to being starved for sensuality and intimacy!

20 years ago the average Tehrani girl would say "Put a ring on my finger, then you can touch my leg."
10 years ago it was "Do me from behind. The front is reserved for my husband."
Now it's "I'll sleep with you, and you can do anything you want with me. Just please love me, and don't break my heart."
I wonder how it's gonna be in another ten years.
