Talk about pompous. Sheesh Karla. Avoidance of social gatherings for the pure desire of writing? Don't get too antisocial on us. It gets contagious, one already bit the dust. I've come pretty close myself.

Girls, girl! All we were talking about was just a few social media sites. Relax! I wasn't expecting this sort of Spanish Inquisition.

NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.

Subversify is awesome! But it's not the same as having your own page to whine on haha. Too bad there isn't a way to link all the various places and have them all in one spot, and show when they get updated. OH! that is a money maker, someone get on that quick! haha My new yahoo profile lists all my whining spots from blogger to twitter and even gives out my goodreads updates...just sayin, the only thing missing is I can't put fluffy kitty pictures on it...I guess I can live with that.

The Spanish Inquisition! LOL
Well that is cool grainnerhuad! would be cooler if I had all Maya's and Savvy's And Mitch's Etc all in one place. .....and if it told me when each of you updated. Someone will make this software, and make some cash. Curses for not learning programming! haha

Maya, there is a great deal of difference between being anti-social and wishing to socialize with writers. When i say writers, i say it in a very liberal sense. If the work is lively, interesting and carries a perception of the surrounding world, i say that person is a writer. That person doesn't need a degree. S/he doesn't have to list writing skills as an occupation. The field of expertise might be limited, but it's all in delivery.
For someone who is often accused of being a hermit, my social life is very full. The time i spend away from my computer usually is in socializing and house hold chores. I'm accused by my friends and family who drag me away from my cubby hole that i spend entirely too much time on the computer.
I'm also still steaming over my account with Netlog and still trying to decide what to do about it. I thought it would be good to open my blogging sphere a little; find a few more writers for our group;but so far, i'm only filled with annoyance. I receive numerous invitations each week from people who say they would like to be friends, then go on a spiel about how they've been looking for a sweet, pretty girl to take care of them or invite me to see their web cam. Needless to say, i haven't answered any of them. I have absolutely no idea why i would want to share my private life with a perfect stranger.
A few links that would tie the writing groups closer together probably would be a practical idea as it would give us stronger connections, but i'm really not a social butterfly. When i go to parties, i tend to gravitate to where the group is smallest and the conversation most intense. I remain true to my character in the Internet world. I wouldn't leave a group of dedicated friends; especially those with whom i've already invested much time and interest, but my group of friends were people i found interesting from the start. I already have the leisure of blogging with them, e-mailing, commenting when i can. I guess what i'm trying to say is, Subversify is settling into as much of a home for me as my site at 360 had been, and i like it the way it is; where people drop in with their thoughts, their ideas, their humor, their discussions, reflect on ways we can make the magazine better. It's far from the maddening crowd. It's the quiet retreat from the noise and clatter, where people can sit down together, drink their beer, enjoy the night and stirring suddenly by the sound of a hoot owl in the brush, begin to sketch their dreams on paper.

I'm not talking about yahoo profile. yahoo profile isn't my cup of tea. 360 was bad, the new profile thing is worse. What I want is an application that can link Savvy's Cozy cafe and my face book and Mitch's blogger site etc. To one spot....where it has everyone's separate whining spots in one place haha...and shows something to let me know when they update. Basically just something to keep everyone organized in one place. Right now I feel we are scattered to the winds. We all come and talk new ideas on Subversify, but none of us has a "home" where we can also catch up on the personal things. Does that make sense?

Subversify is my personal life. In actuality, I gripe about PETA, Obama and Family Guy in person as much as I do on the net.
But I understand what you're saying. It is a good idea. To be honest though I prolly wouldn't read any other 360-like services. People know where to find me. I guess I feel bad about it, because i miss people like Jen and Scarlett. But time is limited these days.

They know WHERE to find you....but unless they check obsessively (and I know your love of stalkers) they don't know WHEN you have updated...

I agree with Mitch, Subversify IS my life. But I will also update everyone as to what is going on here at all the other places too.

Hey, I am starting to work on a cool new website for myself. I would be more than happy to put everybody together on a "recommended sites" link! It will take me a while to get everything together, though.
