Mitch, I find myself rage watching Walking Dead. It is fun to watch but really I am constantly yelling "Come On!" or "Finally!" at the t.v.
VHS was good, although there were some slow places. I have queued up the sequels but I have heard they are not as good.

New season of Spartacus is pretty good, compared to the horrible second season. Same goes for the new Shameless.

Are you watching the British Shameless or the American one?
Oh and also, I gave Breaking Bad another chance too. This is a show I also rage watch. Moreso than Walking Dead. Mostly because I hate every single character in it and want them all to fail.

Oh I love season 3 of Shameless thus far. I was just wondering which one you were watching.
As for Breaking Bad I think everyone down to the baby is an asshole. I want them all to be punished especially Heisenberg. He is the epitome of a selfish dick. That doesn't stop me from watching because I want to be there when he gets his comeuppance. Jesse is possibly the only person I feel for. Okay and the Chicken Man.

Grainne, I simply like Michael C. Hall; period. What a fantastic actor! Dexter is a very cunningly put together show and demonstrates some of his talents quite well. In an instant, he can go from the loveable guy next door to a sinister killer. However, the day he sold me completely on his skills was the day I watched "Gamers". The movie itself was a high "B", but Hall brought out his full arsenal of talent. Not only can he play a good guy or a bad guy equally well, he can sing and dance!
Spartacus was great, but I think the script writers are having a hard time squeezing out any more plot lines from their initial investment. I haven't even heard whether or not there will be a fourth season and the third one left me craving more.
I get a feeling the Walking Dead is running down as well. Seems kind of a pity as I think, with the high degree of character development they use, it could deepen into something tangible that lasts awhile, but they knock off various cast members so fast, it's beginning to feel like the show is grinding its wheels.
The only new movie that sincerely interests me is Les Miserables, and I still haven't had a chance to see it! It's driving me nuts. The entire year, there has been nothing but drivel, and no, I don't watch shows just because I'm bored. I never have enough time for boredom. I do watch a bit of mindless television when I'm too tired to do anything else, but I can never sit down more than two or three hours at a time. The good news is, television is so boring, I go right to sleep if I watch it before going to bed.

I love Michael C. Hall too, both in Dexter and Six Feet Under. In fact if I had to choose which character I liked better Dexter Morgan or the Undertaker...I just don't know who I would pick. Plus Six Feet Under has a way better supporting cast, I think.
Spartacus jumped the shark this season. The writers said it was the last, they want to end on a high-ish note. And we all know how it ends anyway.
I think however Walking Dead has legs (and brains) and will go for a while especially if they keep the graphic novel as a touchstone. Don't get me wrong, I love watching it. I watch it religiously. I just have fun with it, it's not serious.
I HATE Les Miserables. Not just this incarnation but every incarnation. The story itself is not the problem, it's the gushing people who "love" it. Usually -and I don't mean to offend because this is certainly not true of everyone- but usually people who like it are ones who read it and see themselves as highly literate for having done so. They cannot tell you anything about any other classical novel, but Les Mis, they will drone on and on about. It's the fans that turn me right off. Also, I hate it as a musical. I hate all the musical numbers in it. But that's one of my prejudices.
A new show that I am looking forward to is DaVinci's Demons, which will follow Sparticus on Starz. I am hoping it will be as good as HBO's Borgia's. Also loving Game of Thrones.

Oh, I think I'll ignore the gushing people, Grainne. For one thing, I read the book years ago and it made a strong impression on me. I never got to see any of the incarnations of it, so I have nothing to compare it with. Les Miserables is one of my favorite books, just a little under Ana Karenina and The Brothers Karamazov. I like musicals; the grander the better. And I also have a huge crush on Russell Crowe, probably a bit more than Michael C. Hall because he's older and more mature. I want to see it for myself and decides whether or not it moves me in the manner that the book did.

LOL, you are probably right Mitch. I may have liked Les Mis more if it had not been a musical. I love musicals usually but ones that make the awards suck and then we have to listen to every musical group from Jr. High student to bored housewives who visit rest homes sing the songs forever, that's what really kills me. You will never seen housewives with time on their hands sing The Devil's Carnival at a rest home, therefore, I love that music.
The same is true for me by the way of Phantom of the Opera. I hate it because it's overdone, Cats too. But, I do love all the old musicals I watched with my grandparents. Okalahoma, Annie Get Your Gun, The Music Man, The Book of Mormon on Broadway...you know...classics.

About Prometheus, which I finally got around to watching, all I've got to say is that Michael Fassbender makes a good robot.
Anyone seen The Rum Diary? Is it as good as the book? Gonna get it tonight.

I found the Rum Diaries watchable but disappointing. Basically, Johnny Depp trying to recapture Leaving Las Vegas, which made no sense since chronologically that came later...But Since when did anything make sense in Hunter's life?

You don't like Hunter S. Thompson, Grainne? I think he was a very talented writer, and he wrote stuff that's quite enjoyable to read.

I do like Hunter S. Thompson. A lot. But he did take a lot of care and go to a lot of trouble to be non-sensical. It's not a detriment, but rather something to be admired. A movie really cannot capture the essence of his writing or his thought process as well as he already did.
Leaving Las Vegas came closest in film, I think. But still, it's better to read him.
